We are having some lovely mornings. This photo was taken from the back of the house, looking out over the area known as Laguna Honda, because of the tiny lake hidden there in a low pocket among the hills, and toward Mt. Tamalpais and the Marin headlands. If it weren’t for the fog, you’d see a sliver of ocean outside the Golden Gate. I’m told I climbed to the summit of Mt. Tam at about age four, an event I remember only vaguely, but which would most certainly have been a typical weekend outing for my quite young and adventurous parents in 1959. The house encrusted hilltop to the left is part of the neighborhood known as Forest Hill, and to the right, emerging from the mist, you can see Clarendon Heights and Mt. Sutro. Twin Peaks lies outside the picture to the right of that.
